Care for the Community

Adhering to the core value of "Si Li Ji Ren", Lee Kum Kee is fervent in sharing the fruits of its success for the benefit of the society, and spares no effort in contributing to community welfare.

    • Lee Man Tat and Choi May Ling Charitable Foundation
    • To set example for his family to practise the family core values of “Si Li Ji Ren” and “Giving back to the Community”, Lee Kum Kee Group Chairman Mr. Lee Man Tat founded the Lee Man Tat and Choi May Ling Charitable Foundation in 2001. In 2003, the Foundation made a donation to Tsinghua University to build the Lee Man Tat Bio-Medical Science Library. In 2010, the Foundation funded the establishment of Lifeline Express “Lee Kum Kee Cataract Treatment Centre” in Ziyang, Sichuan to support Lifeline Express providing surgery to poor cataract patients in Mainland China.

      Every year, the Foundation makes donation to fund different activities to relieve poverty, support educational institutions in Mainland China, and funds scholarships to support under-privileged students.


      •   The Foundation sponsored the establishment of “Lee Kum Kee Cataract Treatment Centre” for Lifeline Express.

       

    • Donation to Build “Lee Man Tat Bridge” and “Infinitus Bridge”
    • As Lee Kum Kee invests in the establishment of its major production base in Xinhui, not only does it contribute substantially to the hometown’s economic development, the Company also returns its due to the community through donations in 2011 to build the "Lee Man Tat Bridge" and "Infinitus Bridge" to relieve mounting pressure on the infrastructure arising from rapid economic development. The "Lee Man Tat Bridge" was opened to traffic in 2014, and the "Infinitus Bridge" is expected to be completed in 2016.

    • Lee Kum Kee Global Volunteer Team
    • In 2013, the Lee Kum Kee Global Volunteer Team was established to encourage employees worldwide to organise voluntary services to live up to the core value of "Si Li Ji Ren”.

    • Sharing Fruits of Success
    • As a century-old family enterprise, Lee Kum Kee is committed to corporate social responsibility and is fervent in sharing the fruits of success for the benefit of the society.

      Lee Kum Kee has supported Lifeline Express Car Expedition for seven consecutive years. All funds raised were donated to Lifeline Express Hospital Eye-Trains for providing free operations to cataract patients.

      Lee Kum Kee also donated libraries in remote mountain areas in China with the aim to help children in these areas to gain knowledge and broaden their horizons.

      In 2013, Lee Kum Kee Group donated RMB 2.5 million for disaster relief and rehabilitation in Ya’an of Sichuan Province after it was hit by a major earthquake.
